drinking from my saucer.....

Do we really know how to count our blessings?

Do we honestly understand just how blessed we are?

There are so many times that I know I don't fully recognize or appreciate a blessing until time has passed. Sometimes MUCH time...

Sadly, I think I miss many opportunities to render my humble thanks to my almighty Creator and King for all He does in my life! Just the fact that I am because of the great I AM is a blessing!

A little of 48 years ago, He gave me life. He blessed me with wonderful parents and a wonderful family. When I was a small child I was very ill and after 9 years, not only did God so graciously heal my physical body, but in His awesome mercy He healed my spiritual body. He gave me new life. Life everlasting!

I am blessed.

".... and with His stripes we are healed."  (Isaiah 53:5b)

He protected me through some rebellious teenage years. He kept His hand upon me and lovingly guided me back to the path He had planned and ordained for my life. When I called upon Him He was there.

I am blessed.

"Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near" (Isaiah 55:6)

God has blessed me with a wonderful husband. A true man of God. A caring and generous man. A loving and faithful partner.

I am blessed.

God blessed us with 3 amazing daughters who all have a personal and intimate relationship with Christ.  They all love the Lord and are serving Him in their daily lives.

God so graciously blessed us with 6 grandbabies. Praise His Name! What a wonderful and joyful blessing they are.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above" (James 1:17)

God graces me daily in ways that are too numerous to cont. Grace upon grace. Blessing heaped upon blessing.

Breath - life - sustenance - health.

Safety  - protection - freedom - worship - His Word.

Friends - family.

Indeed I am blessed. So blessed. My cup is overflowing. It overflows in abundance and I am drinking from my saucer.

Thank you, Lord.

Beth, I'm guilty sometimes too of failing to really recognize all of the goodness He has bestowed upon me. While there are still some dry spots in my life, my cup overflows in so many more. The title of your post reminds of a poem, I once read.

Hi sweetie, Tried to leave a comment earlier but for some reason it wouldn't give me a word clue. I just wanted to say how thankful I am for you; love your grateful heart. Praying that much fruit continues to be birthed in Texas and also many blessings on you and your man. Hugs to you dear friend. Lots of love, Noreen

Wonderful post. Exactly what I needed to read this day. :-)

I know I don't always connect the dots with blessings....though I do try. I try to fill a whole journal page in the morning with blessings and things I'm grateful for - new things - and not "just" home/family, etc. Though I am EXTREMELY thankful for them all. I am trying to become more aware of ALL the ways He has blessed me and continues to - through everything!!! xo

Sweet Beth:

I read your words here and it could be my story as well. Childhood illness, spinal meningitis, a husband who loves & serves God and loves me, his wife... 3 kids who all love and serve Jesus, and 6 grandkids!!

My cup, along with yours, is running over!!

Hugs!

Sonja

Those of us born and raised in America are overly abundantly blessed more then we will ever know. It will be a sad day indeed if God ever lifts His protective hedge from us. :-(

Sometimes we need to just stop and count our blessings. I am remiss in that. Last week was a tough week at school. But then I got one-on-one time with one of my granddaughters---brightened up my landscape and put everything back into perspective--God's perspective. I took some time to "drink from my saucer."
Great phrase.

We are indeed blessed. Even on our worse day the Lord blesses. We need to stop and look at what the Lord does and be thankful. for every mountain we have to climb, for every valley we go through ~ we are blessed. In every heartache and every sorrow we are still blessed.
Bless His Lovely Name.
