THANKful Thursday - the Joy of Nanahood

I just love thankful Thursday's with Greg and am so glad that he is gracious enough to host this each week!

I can sum up this weeks thankfulness in just one photo. It's a picture of all 5 of my grandchildren. Now, lest you think that it was an easy picture to capture, let me tell you it wasn't!! Trying to get 5 kids to look at the camera and at least NOT cry isn't easy. Especially when the youngest 3 are 1,2, and 3 years old! Ha! When Megan's 4th precious little one arrives in June, there is no tellin' if I will ever get one of all of them together.

God has blessed me with amazing grandkids. Each one is special and each one has a distinct place of their own in this Nana's heart. I was just as excited at the birth of the last one as I was at the birth of the first one. Each new milestone that each sweet baby reaches is just as wonderful to me as the next. The 5th time around, I still get pumped with joy at each new tooth, each first step and each first word.

I am so thankful that God blessed me with 3 precious daughters and that through 2 of them (so far) I have 2 granddaughters and 3 (almost 4) grandsons. Oh, what a blessed Nana I am.

Thank you sweet Jesus, for the opportunity to be a grandmother. It has been the biggest thrill of my life and I pray that You equip me always to be an amazing example to them of living a life that is pleasing to You. May they always see Jesus in me and may they always know how much I love them. I give you all the praise and honor for the awesome privilege of "Nanahood".

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward" (Psalm 127:3)

Captivated by Him,
Beth

You are so very blessed!! Love that sweet pic of all of them together.

I wish that I could sense that my mom felt that same way as you do about being a Nana (that's what we call her too) or a mother.

Beth, they are adorable...each and every one!

You know, here I sit with a ten-year-old and baby #2 on the way and every now and again I catch myself thinking about "nanahood". Not to wish away the moments I get today, but just dreaming about the differences - and I pray that I am blessed with the same kind of relationship with my future daughter-in-law that I share with my mother-in-law. It's not perfect, but we are so very close and I adore her - as does Kiddo! As time goes on and I get to re-learn all about baby development in utero and beyond I am thrilled that this child, too, will be born into a family that loves each other so very, very much. How exciting! :)

They are so adorable Beth! Especially when they are in proportion. LOL!

I have had a hard time getting a good picture with just three. I can't even imagine it with 5. :)

I know you are a wonderful Nana and teaching them to love the Lord with all their heart!

I know exactly how hard it was for you to get that picture... we're finally at the stage when we can get at least one or two good ones! They are beautiful, friend, and a blessing I'm sure. Some day, I hope to have some of my own.

I can only imagine what it was like trying to get that picture. LOL
Bless you for being such a great Nana. My kids have a wonderful grandmother, too.
(Wish I could say that about both of them...But I'm trying to be thankful for what we have, rather than dwell on what we don't.)
I pray you may have many, many wonderful moments with each of these little blessings!
