Clutching a Word from My Lord

"For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, says the Lord" (Jeremiah 30:17)

I came across this verse last night several times in several different places. I felt the Lord speaking that particular Word to me - for Melissa.

I quickly grabbed hold of it and clutched it tightly to my heart - almost willing it to penetrate deeply and permanently in my soul.

Craving a Word from my Savior, I received this one and ran like the wind with it. Almost afraid it would get away. Wanting to keep it in my grip. Wanting to tuck it away safe and secure. My Word from My Lord.

These last few days have found me waiting, watching and wondering.

Yet they have found God working.

I've been fearful..

He's been faithful.

As I've been seeking comfort and searching His Word...

I've found Him.

Or maybe He found me.

When I am afraid, I need to trust. When I am uncertain, I need to believe. When I am doubting, I need to repent. When I can't, I need to remember He can.

I clutch the promise of His Word firmly and bury it deep in the confines of my heart.  Holding it close. Resting in it's deep assurance. Relaxing in His presence.

Taking hold of the glorious gift he offers. Jesus. I just keep hanging on to Jesus. Ready for the restoration and healing that I know is coming.

Update: Melissa was sick through the night and began running fever. It rose above 101 around 5 AM and they packed her in ice. It hasn't gone down much, but it hasn't gotten any higher. Praise Him for that! Her color is much better! Her eyes are losing that beautiful golden tint - Ha!

Ready for the good news???? Her platelets went from 11,000 to 22,000!!! Oh, praise God!! He is so good!!! We are still about 100,000 short, but we are headed in the right direction. I know that He gave me that Word last night about her healing. I cried out yesterday and said, "Lord, I just need to see her numbers rise - just a little!" He granted me this glimpse of His splendor. He granted me this glimpse of His glory and His might. I give Him all praise and glory and honor! He is SO good.

She gets her last dose of Artesunate tonight at 8 PM. Then she will start oral meds tomorrow. Hopefully if her platelets keep rising, she will move out of ICU to a regular room! The nurses told her she has the sweetest spirit and I told them it was just the Lord in her. May He be glorified in her life.

Thank you for your prayers. We can feel each and every one. You just can't imagine how it lifts my spirits to see you praying and to read all the scriptures you send me. I am writing each one down!

In His Grip and
Beth

I am reminded again this morning of something I wrote the other day in a post regarding "faith" and "the darkness before the dawn." Perhaps it's meant for you this day. Been praying continually as the Lord brings you to mind.

"A night’s ending and a day’s beginning is a good edge to stand on if one is longing for faith’s interpretation. Faith teeters between these two extremes.

Faith accepts the mystery of the night while anxiously stepping toward the daylight.

Faith struggles with the unseen noises of the night, pondering their authorship and authenticity.

Faith looks intently into the darkness rather than retreating behind closed eyes.

Faith writes new words, new chapters in the darkness because the night insulates and isolates the “pen” from competing, daytime distractions.

Faith walks through the night because faith is certain about the morning.

Faith allows the night her witness because faith has seen the brilliance of its contrast.

Faith grows in the darkness because darkness has always been a good soil for faith’s good beginning.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” (Genesis 1:1-2)

May God continue to open up Melissa's body to receive the healing he longs to pour out upon her from heaven.

Praises for the blessings, no matter what size they are! Praises for the light shining through Melissa. Praises for our Great Physician orchestrating the healing of Melissa, the caring staff, you and your family.
With tears, I read .. "I cried out yesterday and said, "Lord, I just need to see her numbers rise - just a little!" He granted me this glimpse of His splendor. He granted me this glimpse of His glory and His might. I give Him all praise and glory and honor! He is SO good." Praise the LORD.

With my heart filled with care and concern, I then read Elaine's post and find that I am wrapped in God's love, lifting Melissa up as though she were my own. And tears return. Oh, praise God. Heal this sweet child, LORD. I ask with more love for a child I only know through pictures and blogging with her mother...more love than I knew I had. It is all from You, Precious Abba. I know You are answering each and every prayer for Melissa in Your blessed ways. Amen.

I love you, Beth, and am praying for you too. ~ linda

WOW!! Makes me cry to read just how well she is doing. But we shouldn't be surprised. We serve such an awesome God. He works in mysterious ways but to Him we give all the glory. I pray that her platelets just keep increasing.

The beauty of Word is never more magnificent then when we can grasp on to it tightly; when it becomes ours and ours alone.

Hold on tightly for in its essence is all the strength and peace that you need.

My prayers continue for you and Melissa.

Shalom,
Denise

Beth,
I am praying for sweet Melissa, trusting God for her complete healing and restoration.

I am praying for YOU, knowing how much a mother's heart hurts when her children are hurting. May God bring you (and your husband) great comfort and peace, as only HE can give.

Hugs,
Beth

Beth:
I just now am catching up a little on the blogs, and saw your last few postings. We all prayed Melissa safely home... and now I join with all of these others to pray for God's healing touch for her. I was just reading in 'All of Grace", by Spurgeon, and loved what he said..."Faith is the hand which grasps". Praying right now for Melissa.

Oh Beth ---------This is so like our GOD!! Don't you just LOVE HIM SO??? I know that's Beth Moore's line - but it's such a good one! Because He loves us so. He loves you so! He loves Melissa so!

And our response to that is that WE love HIM SO - too!

Yes - sweet Mama - claim those verses on healing. He didn't take you there by accident!

Love to all of you........ Keep trusting!

Many prayers for Melissa are being lifted up to the Lord from our side of the pond here in Cameroon. We grew to love Melissa very much during her stay and service with us, and hate to hear of her suffering right now. So we are with you in Spirit and ask the Great Physician to heal her, give wisdom to all the docs, and to encourage you as you comfort her.
Truly His,
Frances

Beth, I've just gone back and read up on Melissa. Yes, you are all in the fire right now, but you know our God is faithful and He WILL bring you through it.
For your good, and His glory!
Yes, Father, we believe You. We believe You have a good purpose for this thing You're doing in Melissa's life - and in the lives of those who love her. Please show them Your power today, as You raise Melissa's counts, as You bring peace to their souls and hope to their hearts.
And I thank You, Father, for Your word for Beth. Please speak tenderly to her heart today!
I'm asking it all in the wonderful, powerful, beautiful, matchless Name of JESUS.
Amen and amen!

Beth, if you have time please stop by and read my post about waiting today. It struck me as I read your post - how similar our thoughts!

Beth - so sorry you are battling sickness with Melissa. I know these times show us how powerful the Lord is to heal and to save. He gave me "Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things wihich were told her from the Lord." Luke 1:45.NKJ

Combine this one with the one he gave you and it makes a great one two punch against sickness. I'll be praying for her.
