It's a Crazy World

Do you ever dread looking at the morning paper or turning on the news? It seems like lately there is NO good news abounding. Everything is negative. Everything is depressing. Everything seems to be going just the way that satan has planned. It is enough to get anybody a little down.

It seems like the world has just gone crazy! Some of the things that are happening, just absolutely floor me. I can't believe that there are people that actually think that some of these things are good things. Don't people see what is really going on here? It's like they have blinders on to what is REALLY happening. It is a little scary.

I read something though that I am going to hold onto and focus on. There are bad things going on in this world - that is a fact. But there are also a lot of GOOD things going on behind the scenes in the spiritual kingdom. We don't always see it and we can't always feel it, but we know it is there. We can rest assured that God is working 24 hours a day and we can rest assured that He has everything under control. His control. None of this surprises Him.

We just have to hold on to our faith and beliefs and know that our God is still present in our lives. He has not left us. He is always there to guide us and protect us.

We have to keep our faith and trust in Him. We have to keep spreading the gospel. We have to keep doing His work.

It is hard sometimes to disregard what seems like the world's total disobedience and rebellion to God. The world lives by a set of values that are completely opposite of what God's values are. We just have to stay strong and keep ourselves in His Word. God's Word is where we we will find the things that He values. When we focus on those things, we can't go wrong. We will be on the winning team. We will finish strong.

I get so much strength from all of my sweet bloggy friends! I just love the way we can encourage one another. It has been such a blessing to me and I am so thankful for all of you!

"We do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen; for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:18)

I hope that I can look at the world and things going on in the world with a spiritual heart, and not get upset or saddened, but only aware to pray even more and to know that home is just around the bend.

Thanks for your thoughts
Tessa :)

I agree with you Beth about what we're seeing but what I do is keep my focuse on the LORD while I pray about all that I'm seeing in the world. I have a saying I live and use often, be bible smart and world aware. Tragically many live one or the other or none.

These are times when we must know what endurance and perservering in Christ is really about and stand on our faith in Christ even while we see the government and the nation in deep trouble! I pray for government and our nation to come to repentance and turn our hearts toward Christ with humility. I pray for all to give their worship to Christ alone and not to 'man' realizing that JESUS is the only one who is our Redeemer! Glory to God!

Thank you for this message of encouragement today Beth. It is a crazy world but thank GOD we are not in this craziness alone. We can turn our eyes, hearts, minds and homes toward heaven with confidence. Praise the Lord.

Psalm 121
Psalm 91
Matthew 7:33
Psalm 27:13-14
Romans 8
1 and 2 Thessalonians
are a few that come immediately to my heart as I read your message.

God bless you and your family.

I have to say we must stay in prayer always and stay focused on the Great I AM. It's a hard world for sure, but as long as I keep my focus on my Lord, I continue to have joy and blessings.
Great post!!!!
Have a beautiful and Blessed weekend :)

And you are always a blessing to us!

Yes, it is difficult to see the good that's happening behind the scenes because it is rarely reported in the paper or on the news.

But we are fortunate enough to know better and to do better.

Praise God for showing us the good in others.

Amen Beth! I think about what you wrote about a lot. These days certainly are very dark, but like you-I believe the light outshines the darkness, always. I daily look for God's work in spite of the modern day false prophets (a.k.a much of the news media)! I get a lot of strength from my bloggy friends, too- like you, sister! I pray a lot that each of us, His children, will stand strong in these days.

Hello there! My name is Vickie and I was blog surfing and found your daughter and then you! I am a homeschooling mom and a pastor's wife, too. I'd love to comment on your post.

I have removed myself from all news shows and most of TV. (I have been known to watch "Bringing Baby Home" and "The Duggards" on TLC!) Most of what I know about the news is from the old lady at church when she gives her "report" about what is terrible in the world! :)Ha!

I had to remove myself because I could feel myself being pulled into a negative direction. When a Christian watches lies, the lies should pop out at us. I was so tired of hearing lie after lie. I don't want my watching the news to indoctrinate our children.

I'll give a little confession, too, since you don't know me!! :) I also had to stop watching the home improvement shows on HGTV because, right now, we don't have a home. (We are living at my inlaws.) We left everything we have twice now for God. Even though I have gotten creative ideas off of shows for when we are back on our own, I don't want to be lusting or wishing over the homes on TV.

Thank you for your encouraging posts and for letting me go on! :) God bless you in your blogging and in the Lord's ministry.

Oh... I know what you mean. I try not to watch the news before I go to bed.

I believe the Lord is coming quickly. I desire to be about my Father's business until He comes. : )

Thanks so much for sharing!

It is nice to meet you!
