His Water is Life - Saturday Steps of Faith

"Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." (John 4:13-14)

It would be so easy to read over these verses and not get fully impacted by the magnitude of what that means in our lives. I have been guilty of sometimes just reading the words of the scriptures and not letting it really settle in my heart or letting it reach deep down into my soul and grab hold.

When I read these verses and ask the Lord to open the eyes of my heart, I see the powerfulness of Him embedded in the words.

Jesus is the fountain of Living Water. It provides:

Eternal Refreshment
Unending Satisfaction
Abundant Grace
Everlasting Life

I thank you, Lord for the springs of water that will NEVER go dry! I give Praise to you Lord for providing the never ending flow of sweet water from Your reservoir of life.

I thank you, Lord that I can drink from the streams of Your righteousness.

I thank you, Lord that Your water quenches the unquenchable thirst.

I thank you, Lord that You are the waterfall of eternal life.

I thank you, Lord that the river of Holiness flows from your Throne.

I thank you, Lord that you give us the opportunity to kneel down, cup our hands and fill them with this precious water. As we drink, we savor the taste of your Mercy and your Grace. We savor the sweetness of your Truth. We savor You.

I am believing God today that He will give me the opportunity to share the life giving water with someone this week. I am believing God that He will help me to be discerning and obedient to His Word. I am believing God.

Beth,

WOW! Just taking this verse in and letting it sit inside your mouth before taking that cool drink is in itself powerful.

I see this verse as never needing things to satisfy us again because once we have salvation through Jesus, there is no greater thing to want.

People can say they can live longer without food than water, and within 3 days of no water, we can physically die, however once we have Jesus, we can never die. He took the thing that humans need and desire the must to tie this in, with the needs we all constantly struggle to obtain to find happiness of some sort but never do.

Once you find Jesus, you find happiness and needs are satisfied once and for all.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

God truly does open His Word to us when we are open to Him. I have so often just 'read' and not received the power in His words. Your reminder was and is good for me, Beth. Thanks.
I believe God for He will surely direct your ways to one who needs to hear of God's saving Grace this very week.
May He shower His blessings upon you. ~ linda

I too realize how often I skim over God's Word without letting it sink in! Praying with you that someone we know or meet this week will be touched by our sharing a "drink" with them!

No kidding, JUST before I sat down to read this I walked over and got a drink of water. And in a little while I will need another drink because I will be thirsty again.

But Jesus truly satisfies!!!

So thankful for HIM.
