Oh, sweet victory in my Savior...

SWEET VICTORY
My heart is heavy.
tired
burdened

There is no assuagement from the guilt.
feeling down.
defeated.
disappointed.

I battled the flesh today and lost.
I let my guard down
and the foe is ruthless.

Just waiting for the opportunity
to attack.
Crouching and waiting.

he rears his ugly head at
the first opportune moment,
prowling,
devouring.

I allowed him to hold me captive for a short time
Until finally my spirit resisted.

I recognized the conflict
with the flesh.
Between good and evil.

I cried out to my God.
The One who can rescue.
cover
redeem
strengthen

Through Christ, I tapped into the power
afforded me through way of
The Cross.

The power to fight.
The power to win.
The power to defeat the enemy.

Reaching up, I grasp
The Hand of my Savior.

Embracing the unity I have
with Him when I call upon His Name.

I feel His touch.
Melt in His arms.

Allow Him to move.

Because of Him,
I am victorious in the fight.

The guilt fades.
The weariness recedes.
The burdens are lifted.

Joy returns and
I rest in the sufficiency of
His almighty Presence.

The width and depth of His love
Overwhelms me.
The height of it fills me with awe.

Praise You, Lord.
Praise You for your continuing
love,
care
and watch over me.

You are my refuge.
My strength.
My Savior

You are the defeater of my enemies.
The victory in my life.

My heart is light.
Renewed
Restored.

No condemnation,
No defeat.

Only sweet victory in Jesus.

"For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh
reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit
reap everlasting life."

Beth,

Isn't is great that we have a God that can overcome our tendencies to fall every once in awhile and like the great Father He is, He is always next to us, extending out His hand and picking us back up!

In case you get the chance, stop by my blog today for a great opportunity to enter another giveaway I'm doing.

The absolute only way I can make it through each and every day, some times minute by minute is hanging onto His very Word. Thank God your spirit in you knew...a battle was waging and you knew to look up!! That is a HUGE victory in Jesus!! (Don't you find that coming much quicker than it used to?!) Practice, practice, practice...I'm learning it comes quicker the more we practice.(I'm getting alot of practice too)
Stay in Him...abide in the vine!
Love you sister!

Been there in the defeat... and been there in the tears... and been there is the joy! How sweet is the love of our Lord!

I had one of those days yesterday, Beth... and your words echoed my heart cry too! The enemy sneaks in the back door when we least expect it.

So often we think he's gonna ring our doorbell and ask us to come out and play - and we think we will just say, "no, get lost, fool." But he never does that. He always comes with a cunning motive of 'destraction' using tools that we hold in our hands until without thought we have played right into his hands [again].

Being 'on guard' is a 24/7 watchpost! I need to put my armor on! Thanks for the reminder.

Oh... so often... so very often ... my shield and defense is my LORD and I think I can handle things on my own. Then he snares me too and I fall, I fail. Yet, the LORD never fails and He is right there ready to hold me, love me, remind me of His Word. I am renewed and refreshed, reminded, and loved.
Your words are to the point, Beth, hitting a nail of mine right on the head!
I love you, ~ linda

Beth, thank you for your kind words today. They blessed me, for sure.

God is really doing a strong work in my heart right now. I don't know why I have been fighting it. I keep crying to Him "Lord, do not abandon the work of Your hands!" This post that you have here is a very powerful one. It is so reassuring to know that we have victory in Christ!

Blessings,
Melissa
