Heavy Heart

My day started early this morning. 3:00 am early..... I got up and took my husband, son-in-law and another friend of ours to the airport 60 miles away. They left this morning headed to Nicaragua to finish a church that our church helped raise the funds to build and to have a dedication service. We had been to this same village last November and I was supposed to be part of this return trip. For reasons unknown, all the women who were to go on this trip backed out one by one, except me. I couldn't be the only woman on this trip, so I was unable to go and I was so sad this morning not to be a part of something that I know is going to be HUGE! Huge Worship, huge ministry, huge harvest. But I know for whatever reason, the Lord had different plans for this trip and He knows best.

So, Melissa and I headed back to Monroe to go see a movie and to go to Lifeway (my Favorite store). On the way, my youngest daughter called me to tell me that one of their childhood friends, Amber, had lost her 4 month old daughter to apparant crib death this morning. I couldn't even believe what I was hearing. I had held this precious child in my arms just a few months ago. I had seen the excitement on Amber and her husbands faces as they showed off their new, tiny daughter to me. My heart just broke for them and their families. My throat still has a lump in it. My eyes sting with tears.

Please pray for this young family as they have some very tough days ahead of them. Pray for peace and comfort. Pray for wisdom for those of us who will minister to them in the coming days.

I walked back in my house this evening with such a burden on my heart and such sadness in my soul. Then I looked at the bible verse that I have on my refrigerator.

"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." (Proverbs 19:21)

Praise you Lord for your mercy and your grace. Thank you for your comfort and your peace. Minister to those hurting hearts tonight. Thank you that Your grace is sufficient.

In Him,

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I will pray for this young family for God's comfort to envelope them over the coming very difficult days, and for you in ministering to this family.

Have a Beautiful Lord's day,

Praying for this dear family. I can't fathom the pain but I can pray for comfort and peace.

Thank You for sharing this hurt with us so that we can can join you in taking them to Jesus. Only He can provide the comfort that they need. If you're at a loss for words, remember pages 130-134 in Stepping Up.

2 Corinthians 1:3-7

The God of All Comfort
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

May our gracious God comfort all those who are hurting from this loss.

Looking Upward and Choosing JOY,

Oh Beth,

there are no words to say, other than I feel pain from this as well. And the only words I have to offer is to CLING to Christ and take comfort in Him/His word.

You may already have your answer for why God has you at home instead of heading for Nicarauga.

Love to you,
