Mikaela's 1st missing tooth!
Nothing makes a Nana feel older than when her grandbaby loses her 1st tooth. A few weeks ago Mikaela told me the exciting news of an impending visit from the tooth fairy. She looked so cute with her little tooth missing and it was both a happy and sad moment for me. I could still vividly remember the day (7-4-03) when that tiny little tooth emerged from her little gums looking like a little white pearl. It was such a joyous event for all of us!
Sunday morning, my cell phone rang and when I answered, this darling little voice said, “Nana – guess what? I lost another tooth last night. Eli pulled it with his knee!” (evidently they were playing and it got knocked out by her little brother). She was so excited and when I hung up the phone, I lay there thinking about those little teeth. It was funny that the same little teeth that brought such excitement when they made their very first appearance could bring the same level of excitement when they fell out!
They had come full circle. They came in – they grew – they served their purpose and then they had to come out to make room for the new permanent ones that would take their place. The baby teeth were just temporary. Just like our lives here on earth. Our earthly bodies are like our “baby bodies”. They are growing and learning and serving their purpose, but one day we well exchange these “baby bodies” for our permanent, heavenly bodies!
We will put off corruption and put on incorruption. 1 Corinthians 15:53 says, “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality”. We will shed these earthly bodies and put on our heavenly bodies. We will be clothed in righteousness! We will be perfect. Hallelujah!
We will leave this temporary home on earth and dwell in our new home in heaven. 2 Peter 3:13 says, “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
We will be on our faces at the feet of Jesus and we will be worshiping our King. Our new bodies in our new home will be saying:
“Blessing and Honor and Glory and Power.Praise God for the temporary. I am so thankful that we have heaven to look forward to. We will be in the presence of God. The fullness of His Glory will be surrounding us forever and ever.
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb forever and ever.”
Praising Him,
Beth

I like to think of this life as just the staging area, a place for preparations. But I can't wait for the glorious day of His appearing. Come Lord Jesus Come!
Blessings - Lisa
I relish that, oh how I relish that this is just temporary. GLORY!
Beth Hallelujah!Hallelujah! When we all get to Heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be. When I read your post I couldn't do anything else but jump up from my chair and shout GLOOOOORY!
There is so much power on these blogs, that if the enemy is getting a eye full of these he should be going somewhere and hide, cause we have the POWER and we are not afraid to let it be known
Oh Beth,
I loved this!!! Baby bodies. What a GREAT analogy. This really spoke to my heart.
You are such a Godly woman!! Thank you for sharing your heart with us.
Have a Blessed day,
Dawn
Oh how real that last Scripture is for me after just wrapping up teaching a personal study of The Revelation with a small group last night! Like John - we fell at the feet of Jesus many times as we time-traveled through that book without FEAR - and received the blessing that God intended!!!
We replaced our fear with WORSHIP -in preparation for our heavenly home! Beautiful post - thanks for sharing!
Come, LORD JESUS!!
Looking UPward and Choosing JOY,
Stephanie

I'd never thought about teeth like that before. Great points!
Well, my daughter lost her first tooth a couple of weeks ago. My father happened to be with us that evening. He dropped the tooth on the floor, and we couldn't find it. You can just imagine the drama that ensued. Finally, after 30 minutes of searching on the white marbeled linoleum, my son found it. All was well!
As for this temporary flesh, it's hanging on; but when the day comes to trade it in, I'll be ready. In fact, I'm ready now.
So glad to be passing through with you!

Hi Beth, Thanks for dropping by. Yes, Ozamis City is in the Philippines, in the Southern part in Mindanao. I visited your blog to be able to leave a reply to you comment. I noticed the picture in your header has the music entitled My God and King. It is one of my favorites, by Terry MacAlmon. I think I'm going to enjoy your blog and getting to know you better. Enjoy your day!
What a wonderful picture! Oh how I love what insight we are give each other from our everyday experiences! God can and does use everything that happens in our lives as life lessons!
